Black And Decker Ratcheting ReadyWrench

Black And Decker:  The Ratcheting Ready Wrench

I had heard of the original Ready Wrench but had not used it. The new Black And Decker Ready Wrench with ratcheting feature is a useful, handy tool to have in the tool box.  I find that I use just a  few different size sockets or wrenches, but keep a whole complement of sizes, usually the full set in my tool box.

Having the Ready Wrench with the most popular standard and metric sizes on the tool helps keep my tool box uncluttered.  The easy to read, color coded sizes on each socket was a welcome feature which eliminated a lot of looking to locate the correct size socket. I found the Ready Wrench to be a versatile, handy tool to keep on hand.

The project I immediately used the Ready Wrench for was to tighten the kitchen table and chair legs. I was able to switch from 7/16″ to 9/16″ sizes while underneath the table with no change in position. This really helped move the job along.

Next I located the correct metric size head and straightened the handlebars on my son’s trike.  Since I do not own a full set of  metric wrenches, this was a great addition to the toolbox allowing me to work with a less common metric size connector.  Now my son won’t have to drive in circles because the handle bars are crooked!

Overall impression

I found the Ready Wrench to be a sturdy, reliable tool that made performing everyday tasks much easier.  While it will not replace the full set of master mechanic’s tools, it has the most commonly used sizes, makes the work efficient and helped keep me organized.  I think I will find a place for my socket set on the back shelf and move the Ready Wrench to the front.
