Makita’s Research on Fastening

According to job site research, professional contractor often avoid spending  the money for higher priced premium impact bits. This means that they instead opt for cheaper quality bits, and purchase them in quantity. While ImpactX bits may be more money up front, you’ll find that you’ll get a longer life out of them, less damaged fasteners and in the end you’ll be ahead of the game.

Impact Bits vs Standard Bits

Standard screw driving bits are brittle, break easily and fit poorly into today’s fasteners. Often time they twist and get stuck in the magnetic bit holder. Makita ImpactX accessories have improved fitment and increased performance with high torque impact drivers. The secret of these accessories is that they are precision machined, not forged, tips which allow fit in to the fastener head fully. These bits are also heat-treated S2 steel which provides more flex and more durability than standard, brittle bits.

These bits were designed for use with high torque impact drivers and driver-drills, and are ideal for driving screws in a variety of heavy-duty applications including:

  • Metal fastening
  • Deck building
  • Framing
  • Installing plywood sub-floor
  • General fastening
  • Light socket fastening

Makita ImpactX Features

  • Performance-optimized S2 steel construction for extended life
  • Calibrated heat treating process for added durability
