Recently acquired by WernerCo, BETTER BUILT is a leading brand of work truck equipment and job site storage boxes. This past April, they released their new BETTER BUILT Pro Value Collection of Jobsite Storage Solutions. They have nine new job site storage products, including chest and piano boxes.

Additional Storage Solution

While these job boxes are great for the job site, I needed help with my tool trailer which is busting at the seams.  I wanted more storage in my driveway where I store my work trailer. I think of it as an extension of my shed but closer to the street.

I needed additional tool storage to hold items that we don’t use often like a concrete breaker, powder actuated nailer, SDS drills, and job site lighting. While these items are important to our remodeling operations, we don’t use them often and it makes no sense to take up valuable trailer shelf space with them.

I chose a gray-colored box to match my trailer color and also to blend in and not stick out for the neighbors.

BEST BUILT Job Box Construction

BETTER BUILT 2048-BB Jobsite Chest measures 48in W x 24in D x 28in H and weighs 145 lbs. It is built with fully arc welded, 16 gauge steel construction with fully arc-welded seams.

It has 1/4 inch thick solid lock tangs provide pry bar resistance and a staked and welded piano style hinge.

The bottom skid is solid and made out of a 1-piece, 7-gauge steel. Recessed side handles have 90-degree stops that provide leverage when lifting.

BETTER BUILT Job Box Security Features

The BETTER BUILT job box has a staked/welded hinge and one-time installation lock system with recessed housing to protect against break-ins saws, pry bars and bolt cutters (locks not included)

Safety Feature

All chest lids are manufactured with a single locking spreader, [left-side] which ensures safety when opening, by avoiding the guillotine-effect, by allowing the user to support the lid with one hand while closing it with another.

Adding Power To the BETTER BUILT Job Box

There is a pre-punched knockout and a Power Pass™ rubber-like grommet is included if you want to run power to the box for charging tools.

Cost

The BETTER BUILT job box sells for $428.00 online at Acme Tools.

Overall Thoughts

The BEST BUILT Job Box is a great solution for temporary job site “secure” storage or a permanent storage solution like I did. At 145 lbs empty it can easily be transported without machinery. The upgraded security features allow you to rest easier that your tool investments are protected.
