Werner Multi-Max Pro Ladder

Werner Multi-Max Pro Ladder Review

As a remodeling contractor, there are certain tools that you need, that keep you safe and solve problems. The Werner Multi-Max Pro ladder has met that bill as an all-in-one ladder.

All In One: Stepladder, Extension ladder, and Leveling

The Werner Multi-Max Pro makes for a super sturdy step ladder or small extension ladder but the stair setup and uneven surface leveling capability is where the secret sauce is.  Having the ability to use this ladder on uneven areas or stairs or set up on different height levels [i.e. recessed hot tub deck and floor] is a problem-solving win for us.

We really like the simple, one-step, set-up adjustment that can be accomplished one-handed. The leveling feature allows up to seven inches of built-in leveling for uneven work surfaces.  When used as an extension ladder, the Multi-Max Pro has a single-rope height-adjustment system that converts the ladder into an extension ladder with a simple rope pull.
One function that we found useful was to use a pair of these step ladders as low-level staging plank supports. The wide-leg frame is so much more secure than a standard step later. The ladder is also beefy enough to support two workers, on each side.

Ladder Work Top

The top of the ladder is designed to safely lean against walls, poles, corners, wall studs, and holds tools nicely. We used the 2×4 cut-out on the ladder top to secure the ladder onto a stud wall, resulting in a stable leaning ladder-to-wall connection.  There are pads on the ladder top that also protect what you are leaning against, and convenient trays, hooks, cups, and holes on the top of the step ladder allow for tool and accessory storage.

Quality Construction

Quality materials and construction are obvious on this ladder. Werner has a street reputation for safe, reliable products, and the Multi-Max Pro is no exception. Several of the most innovative features of the Werner Multi-Max Pro are for protection in demanding environments.
  1. The one-handed hinge lock is protected from the elements beneath the durable leaning top.
  2. The single-rope height-adjustment system includes built-in rope storage, keeping the rope protected no matter what height the ladder is being used.
  3. The telescoping leg design is armored with shatter-proof J-locks to keep the Multi-Max Pro’s adjustable side rails safe and secure.

Conclusion

This ladder is beefy and beefy usually translates into weight, as this ladder is NOT light. Its weight is due to its dual-sided ladder and aluminum construction is very versatile and easy to use. It can be used as a step ladder, team ladder, and extension ladder.
This ladder can be adjusted to be used on stairs and the extension ladder can be adjusted for uneven terrain.  When you have a versatile tool such as the Multi-Max Pro, you need to have at least one, better to have two of them on hand!
