Well the folks at SKIL are jumping into the oscillating tool game along with every other tool manufacturer. Just this week the they announced the SKIL Oscillating Multi-Tasker™.
This tool is going to be sold at a very inexpensive price point compared to some of the big names out there. Obviously this means oscillating tools will now be in reach for DIY’ers and folks that do light duty tasks around the house.

SKIL Power Tools is launching the new 1400-02 Oscillating Multi-Tasker™, an 11-piece multi-tool kit designed to help do-it-yourselfers with a variety of at-home projects. The versatility of the 1400-02 is perfect for fix-ups and installations, as well as light to medium-duty remodeling projects.
Whether leveling off piping, removing grout or sanding small furniture pieces, the 1400-02 offers convenient features that include: a powerful 2.0 amp motor, a no mar head to protect walls from scratches when cutting, a convenient, integrated dust extraction port for maximum dust collection and a soft-grip for added comfort and control.
The SKIL Multi-Tasker features OIS™ (Oscillating Interface System), a worldwide standard for universal accessory interface. This professional-grade system offers a 12-pin interface for a secure fit, confident use and long accessory life. Users of the 1400-02 who already have oscillating accessories in their workshop will appreciate the included adapter that allows non-OIS accessories to fit the Multi-Tasker.
In addition to a detail sanding pad and assorted grit sanding sheets, the 1400-02 comes with the following OIS accessories:
- Wood/Metal Plunge Sawblade #84558 –this 1-1/8 inch wide blade allows users to plungecut up to two inches into softwood and thin gauge material.
- Wood/Drywall Segment Sawblade #84568 – the three inch wide blade is perfect for cutting drywall or trimming a door frame near the floor.
- Wood Flush Cut Sawblade #84574 –this 2-1/2 inch blade provides for a flush cut in softwood up to 1-1/4 inches deep.
