Press Release

MILWAUKEE, WI –  Milwaukee Tool continues to revolutionize cordless power tools with the introduction of the new M12™ FUEL Driver (2402-20/22), M12™ FUEL ½” Drill/Driver (2403-20/22), M12™ FUEL ½” Hammer Drill/Driver (2404-20/22), M12™ FUEL ¼” Hex Impact Driver (2453-20/22), M12™ FUEL ¼” Impact Wrench (2452-20/22) and M12™ FUEL 3/8” Impact Wrench (2454-20/22); tools that integrate three ground-breaking cordless technologies to deliver up to 10X longer life, 2X more power and 4X more run-time for the professional tradesman. The Drill/Driver and Hammer Drill/Driver are also the first sub-compact tools in the industry to offer a ½” chuck.

As the clear leader in cordless tool development, Milwaukee has combined their exclusive POWERSTATE™ brushless motor, REDLITHIUM™ battery pack, and REDLINK PLUS™ intelligence to deliver 12V drills and impacts that will out run many compact 18V tools on the market today.

The new POWERSTATE™ brushless motor works harder, lives longer, and converts energy into power and torque more efficiently than leading competitors.  The POWERSTATE™ motor is completely designed, engineered and built by Milwaukee Tool, providing up to 350 in-lbs of torque and up to 1,700 RPM, putting the M12™ FUEL™ Drills in a class of their own.  The POWERSTATE™ motors also reduce noise and cools more rapidly, delivering years of maintenance-free performance.

The new Milwaukee REDLITHIUM™ 2.0 & XC4.0 batteries provide up to 4X more run-time, 20% more power and 2X more recharges than standard Lithium-Ion batteries. REDLITHIUM™ 2.0 & XC4.0 also delivers best-in-class performance in extreme job-site conditions.  With Milwaukee® durability built into each pack, the REDLITHIUM™ 2.0 & XC4.0 battery operates cooler and performs in climates below 0°F/-18°C with fade free power.

REDLINK PLUS™ Intelligence delivers a high-efficiency commutation for longer run time.  This hardware and software is the world’s most advanced system of cordless power tool electronics that will maximize performance and protect the user’s investment.  REDLINK PLUS™ Intelligence is a best-in-class system that integrates full-circle communication between tool, battery and charger, and constantly monitors this internal network to maintain ideal conditions.

Available this winter, the new M12 FUEL™ Drills and Impacts are a true testament to Milwaukee’s focus on the user and investing in game changing technology. Get the latest information and updates on Milwaukee FUEL™ products at www.milwaukeetool.com/fuel andwww.milwaukeetool.com/brushless.

 My Thoughts

My first thought when I read the press release yesterday was “This. is. huge.” First off, getting brushless into the smaller form factor will be great for technicians and installers everywhere but the more more impressive thing is the 2 and 4 aH batteries that can be used with any of the current M12 tools. There are tons of M12 tools in the market currently and now they’ll have even longer run times. This is great news for home owners and renters too. Small tools with big power, sign me up.

I am really excited about the release of these products, I have had <a href="www.cbspowertools.com/milwaukee"Milwaukee power tools for years now and have loved all of them, they are reliable, easy to use and great value for money. I cant wait for these new products to come out.

I appreciate your excellent coverage of the release of new M12 & M18 Milwaukee tools! I became a fan after I bought their M12 1/4″ power screwdriver for use in my appliance repair business, and it’s the most used tool in my box! I recently bought their new M12 3/8″ impact driver for use in automotive applications, and I suspect that it will become the same sort of tool for my hobby! I love the feel of these tools, but just as important is the technology of the batteries and motors that have advanced to the point where they are practical! Hope to see tests on these tools in the future as well…
