Milwaukee® Delivers Industry’s Most Powerful 18V Compact Impact Wrenches

Milwaukee 2655-22 Compact Impact WrenchMILWAUKEE, WI – Milwaukee Tool Corporation continues to expand the fastest growing 18V platform in the industry with the introduction the industry’s first 18V Compact Impact Wrenches with over 200 ft-lbs of torque. As part of the new M18 FUEL™ line that launched in 2012, the new tools feature Milwaukee’s exclusive combination of the POWERSTATE™ Brushless Motor, REDLINK PLUS™ Electronic Intelligence  and REDLITHIUM™ 2.0/XC4.0 Battery Pack to deliver up to 2X more runtime, up to 50% more torque and a proprietary 3-Mode DRIVE CONTROL™ feature.

The new POWERSTATE™ Brushless Motor works harder, lives longer, and converts energy into power more efficiently.  The POWERSTATE™ Motor is completely designed, engineered and built by Milwaukee Tool to deliver years of maintenance-free performance with no wearable components, no losses due to vibration and less heat build-up.

REDLINK PLUS™ Intelligence hardware and software, the most advanced electronic system on the market, allows the user to choose between three fastening modes with the DRIVE CONTROL™ feature.  “Providing this versatility allows the user to switch between Modes 1, 2 and 3 to match the power and speed to the application at hand,” says Tom Simeone, Sr. Product Manager for Milwaukee Tool.  “For example, a mechanical contractor may use Mode 1 for installing u-bolts, mode 2 for installing smaller couplings and mode 3 for installing larger couplings.”

Milwaukee REDLITHIUM™ 2.0 & XC4.0 batteries provide up to 2X more run-time and recharges than standard Lithium-Ion batteries. REDLITHIUM™ 2.0 & XC4.0 also delivers best-in-class performance in extreme job-site conditions.  With Milwaukee® durability built into each pack, the REDLITHIUM™ 2.0 & XC4.0 battery operates cooler and performs in climates below 0°F/-18°C with fade free power. A battery fuel gauge also displays remaining charge for less down time on the job.

The new M18 FUEL™ Compact Impact Wrenches are available in two sizes and three anvil style options for various applications and user preferences. For quick socket changes, the 2654 features a 3/8” Friction Ring Anvil and the 2655B features a ½” Ball-Pin Anvil. These models are recommended for trades that do ground level work. For maximum socket retention, the 2655 features a ½” Pin Detent Anvil for trades that do work overhead.

In addition, all M18 FUEL™ products include the new multi-voltage charger to allow users to charge all M12™ and M18™ batteries with one charger.
Available in March of 2013, the new M18 FUEL™ Compact Impact Wrenches are a true testament to Milwaukee’s focus on the user and investing in game changing technology. For more information on M18 FUEL™, please visit http://www.milwaukeetool.com/system/m18-fuel.
