JET Introduces New Cabinet Saw with 80 Inch Cast-Iron Table

JET 12 in. XACTA™ Saw

LaVergne, TN – Woodworkers and wood shops wanting to upgrade their table saw couldn’t have picked a better time. JET® has introduced a new cabinet saw featuring a massive 80 in. precision ground cast iron table with a beveled front edge. The JET

12 in. XACTA™ Saw has a 31-1/2 x 80 in. foot print. At nearly 630 lbs., the saw is a solid workhorse that powers through the most demanding materials with the guts to prove it.

Attention to quality and detail are evident in this industrial-rated saw, powered by a 5 hp, single-phase, 15.2-amp, 230-volt motor. At 4300 rpm, its transfer of power is constant with a poly V-belt design that reduces slippage, while minimizing vibration. The saw’s on/off button switch is within reach and provides overload protection. Two, oversized hand wheels raise/lower and bevel the 12 in. blade.

What sets JET apart from the pack is its user friendly design features such as the saw’s integrated arbor lock, which facilitates fast and easy, yet accessible, blade changes.

“This is the first JET cabinet saw to feature a standard extension made of commercial grade cast iron,” said Joan Duvall, JET’s Director of Product Management – Wood. “Once you run a few boards through the blade you’ll be hooked. What’s more, when the saw is not in use, the top serves as an efficient work surface for doing prep work or laying out plans and materials.”

This cabinet saw features a riving knife design to help reduce kickback. The integrated see-through blade guard provides a clear view of the work material being cut. Blade guard, pawls and riving knife are removable in seconds.

The saw is equipped with a 40 ½ in. XACTA commercial-grade fence that glides along the rails until locked in place. Its magnifying rail guide allows the user to pinpoint and clearly identify the desired stop. The left-tilt saw easily supports sheet goods and other dimensional lumber with its 50 in. maximum rip capacity to the right of the blade and

14 in. to the left. The saw also accommodates 8-in. dados with a 13/16 in. width. A dado insert is included with the saw. A deluxe miter gauge with adjustable positive stops helps set up cross-cutting operations and miter cuts.

The one-piece, powder-coated, steel closed cabinet houses a heavy-duty trunnion for rigidity and support. The cabinet also provides external storage for the fence and miter gauge.

Beneath the tabletop and surrounding the blade area is a collection shroud with an integrated hose for dust collection. The minimum dust collection requirement is 350. cu. ft./min. (cfm). A hinged motor cover on the cabinet provides convenient access to the motor and belts.

Miter/crosscut sled built in. As long as the implementation is good and accurate that would be nice.
