Bosch Spade Bit – The DareDevil TM

Bosch Redefines Hole Cutting With Most Patented Spade Bit – DareDevilTM

Faster, Easier, Cleaner and Does the WaveBosch DareDevil Spade bit

Mount Prospect, Ill., January 1, 2009 – Professionals who want clean and quick holes in wood haven’t always reached for a spade bit. Spade bits have been known to dull quickly, cause chipping around the entrance hole and could tear large chunks of material from around the exit side.

To combat these problems, Bosch Power Tools and Accessories has introduced DareDevil, a new spade bit with four patented innovations.

What separates DareDevil from other spade bits? It starts at the top, DareDevil features a patented full-cone threaded tip that pulls the bit into the wood which reduces the amount of exertion needed to cut, the amount of time to cut the hole and once the tip has exited the wood, users can slow down feed rate to produce a cleaner exit hole.

Most spade bit paddles are flat, not DareDevils’. The paddle has a distinct curvature. This wave-like patented shape speeds up chip removal resulting in 10x faster cutting speeds than traditional spade bits and 2x faster than any competitive bit. It also reduces heat build-up on the bit for longer life.

It doesn’t end there. Bosch’s new spur & reamer patented design is unique in that it not only scores the wood for accurate travel throughout; the spurs have angled cutting edges that ream the hole for reduced breakout, leaving a cleaner exit than any competitive bit.

Individual Bosch DareDevil spade bits are available in a range of sizes:

6-inch length (standard sizes):
1/4″, 5/16″, 3/8″, 7/16″, 1/2″, 9/16″, 5/8″, 11/16″, 3/4″, 13/16″, 7/8″, 15/16″, 1″,  1-1/8″, 1-1/4″, 1-3/8″, 1-1/2″
