First Impression

Growing up, I had always used gas mowers. I had always thought that gas would be inherently superior to cordless for many of the outdoor tools like the ability to fill up quickly and keep going was far more convenient than recharging batteries. I also thought that gas would allow for longer continuous runtimes. Enter the Greenworks Pro 21″ mower to destroy every assumption I previously had. I fired up this mower and was impressed before I had gone 100ft. The quality of the cut was pristine, the controls were comfortable, and the noise was much quieter than anything I had used before.

Greenworks 60V Cordless Mower – Run time

This mower had an impressive run time. When we set out to push this mower, we certainly didn’t expect that we’d still be going an hour later. With the mower running the entire time and the self-propulsion in action, the mower was able to mow a 1/2 acre lot.

We recently included this model in our Head-To-Head test to determine the best cordless lawnmower.

Greenworks Power

The mower has dual battery ports. This allows you to mow longer if needed. While many of the cordless mowers on the market have spots for multiple batteries, the Greenworks mower is one of the few that automatically switches between the batteries when one runs out of juice. The handle also has a battery gauge that shows the power levels of both batteries. This was a great feature and allowed us to get a sense of how much longer we could go, however it was a bit tough to see in direct sunlight. The Turbo mode also allows you to double down on thicker grass, cutting that lush lawn you worked so hard for with ease.

The Greenworks 60V Cordless Mower Design

Greenworks clearly thought of the average homeowner when they designed this mower. Not only is it the perfect size for a small to the mid-size yard, but it’s also perfect for storing. Let’s be honest, most homeowners struggle to find space for storage. Greenworks made this easy. The mower can be stored vertically and the handle collapses down really nicely. A simple pull of the buttons on the sidebars allows you to fold the handle all the way down to the rest of the mower.

Greenworks 60V Cordless Mower Price

This mower is available from a variety of online retailers and hardware stores. The MSRP is $499 which includes the mower, a 5.0Ah battery, a charger, and a grass collection bag. You can also find kits with additional batteries.

Overall Thoughts

I am very impressed with Greenworks and their mower. They have a large lineup of 60v tools which makes the cross-compatibility very convenient. The mower is extremely comfortable and easy to use. I’d certainly recommend this mower to anyone looking for a durable, high-quality mower.
