Milwaukee Cordless M18 FUEL Miter Saw

M18 FUEL™ 10″ Dual Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw

Last year at the Milwaukee Media Event I had the pleasure of being the only member of the press to demo a prototype cordless miter saw in front of a huge crowd of editors dying to get the same opportunity. I could hardly believe my eyes, a full size, 18 volt cordless miter saw! It almost felt like a dream so when I finally got my hands on the new M18 FUEL™ 10” Dual Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw this week at the Media Event I was blown away!

According to the team at Milwaukee, the new Milwaukee Cordless Miter Saw is designed with a POWERSTATE™ Brushless Motor which delivers a large 6” vertical and 2×12 horizontal cut capacity. Utilizing the performance of the M18™ REDLITHIUM™ HIGH DEMAND™ 9.0 Battery Pack, the new Miter Saw delivers up to 400 cuts and an entire day of work on one M18 pack.

Full Size Job Site Cordless Miter Saw

So we were fairly sure this saw would be available this year based on what we saw at last year’s event. What I wasn’t expecting was a full size “production” job site miter saw. This saw is packed with all the features you’d expect from a full size 10″ miter saw with the obvious exception of an AC power cord.  Some of the notable features include:

  • Full size adjustable fence
  • Easy to use lever style miter lock including a detent override
  • LED Shadow Line cut reference (similar to what’s on the DEWALT brands)
  • Weighs 47 lbs
  • Several comfortable handles for comfortable portability
  • Dust Bag / Dust Collection Port
  • Innovative Bevel Release handle
  • Well designed blade guard that also locks up out of the way for easier blade changes
  • Plenty of power – We tested it cutting pressure treated framing lumber and Oak stair treads

We will be doing a full review of this saw later this Summer or early Fall. In the meantime check out the following video for a sneak peak of the saw and some of our thoughts. We’re fairly certain this saw will totally change your mind about what type of tools can finally cut the cord on the jobsite!
