Milwaukee Announces New Plumbing and Mechanical Offerings

Milwaukee plumbing and mechanical tools from NPS19

A preview of new Milwaukee plumbing and mechanical tools from NPS19. Milwaukee has always been a cornerstone brand for the plumbing and mechanical trades. You would be hard pressed to open a plumber’s van and not find something in black and red. I think my first “toolbox” as a kid was the metal case from my father’s old Hole Hawg. Keeping with that tradition, Milwaukee announced some new updates as well as some new tools at NPS19!

New M18 FUEL SUPER HAWG Right-Angle Drill

The new M18 SUPER HAWG takes advantage of the well established battery platform and is optimized for use with a M18 REDLITHIUM HIGH OUTPUT XC6.0 battery. This package gives you a tool with all day power and performance that is on par with your old corded versions.

SUPER HAWG Right-Angle Drill Features

  • Low Speed: 0-450 RPM/High Speed: 0-1550 RPM
  • Mechanical Clutch in Low Speed
  • 1/2″ All-Metal Keyed Chuck or 7/16″ QUIK-LOK Chuck
  • 13.5-14 Pounds With Battery Depending Upon Model

The M18 SUPER HAWG will be available in two configurations. Model #2809-22 for the All-Metal keyed chuck version and Model #2811-22 for the QUIK-LOK chuck version. Milwaukee included their upgraded REDLINK PLUS electronics in the new SUPER HAWG to increase power and load under capacity. These tools are rated to be able to rough in an entire single family home on one charge or multiple multi-family units. Another impressive stat is the ability to run a 6 1/4″ holesaw through 6″ beam at the same speed as previous corded tools. That is a ton of power and capability!

New M18 FUEL 4 1/2″-6″ Braking Grinder

The new version of the M18 Fuel Braking Grinder is an absolute monster that is able generate the equivalent power of a 13 Amp corded tool. To tame all of this power Milwaukee also added some impressive safety features to protect the end users as well. The built in brake on the M18 grinder will stop the head within 3 second of releasing the paddle or switch. The power and perks all come together to give you a tool that is unrelenting when it comes to cutting, grinding, and other abrasive tasks.

Grinder Specifications

  • Kickback Reducing Clutch
  • Rapid Stop Brake
  • Paddle Switch and Lock On Slide Switch Versions
  • Speed 9000 RPM

Grinder Features

At Tool Box Buzz we had the opportunity to put the new M18 Braking Grinder to work in our most recent Head 2 Head comparison. The grinder will be featured in our soon to come article and video. It was an absolute blast to work with and felt like a wild mustang in your hands. The non-locking paddle version of the M18 Braking grinder is Model #2980-22 and the slide switch on version is Model #2981-22.
