Greenworks Axial Blower on the Jobsite
While the Greenworks 2400802VT 40v blower is labeled as a “leaf blower”, we have taken it out on the job site as a job site blower. Job site clean-up typically occurs at the end of the day when you are tired and frankly do not want to even look at the broom! Job site blowers are extremely popular for tool and job site cleaning. Blowing off your tools before putting them into your van or work trailer is important to us. It’s not for today, it’s for tomorrow. We like to begin each day with a clean tool. I think it’s a pride thing! We use the blower to clean off our Miter Saw, Table Saw, Track Saw, work tables and our work area.
Here in New England, we are in peak snow season. That means a ton of salt and sand on the roads and in our driveways. My walkway up to my front door is bluestone which does not go well with ice melt. I have to use straight sand after I shovel. Fast forward to a few days after the original application, I have quite a bit of sand on the stairs and walkway. That is also a slip hazard. Utilizing the Greenworks blower with 110Mph wind, I am able to clear the stairs with no issue. When blowing the driveway I am able to get into all the cracks and blow all the sand, salt and saw dust out.
Cruise Control Feature
One of the first things that grabbed our attention on the Greenworks 2400802VT was the cruise control feature. There is a lever at the front of the handle that you push down which automatically engages the trigger. You can set it on low air flow all the way to full blast. This feature is great when cleaning out the sand in the drive and would also be very handy when leaf blowing. We found that the variable speed trigger is another bonus when cleaning up the job site. Often having to move equipment or stop to speak to a crew member or client it’s as simple as let go and it’s off. Plus when the blower is on full speed it can kick up dust and send it to places you have already cleaned.
Balance, Comfort and Ease of Use
The Greenworks Axial blower is very comfortable to operate. The balance of the blower is good with the battery at the rear of the tool. The trigger is large and the handle has a nice rubber over-mold on it. The housing of the blower is all plastic. We would like to see some more rubber molding on the housing for better protection. The battery has a push button fuel gauge on it for easily identify the remaining life.
Overall Impression
We believe that if you are in the remodeling, construction, or landscape profession you should have a job site/leaf blower. The Greenworks 40v Axial blower is an excellent solution for getting the job site clean. It is powerful enough to blow your mind!
