Milwaukee Tools Updates Battery Lineup – 2023

Milwaukee REDLITHIUM FORGE  – What’s The Hype?

Earlier this week our team traveled to Milwaukee Tools for their annual media event, the Milwaukee 2023 Pipeline as they like to call it. Some of the biggest news to come from the event was the launch of a new series of premium batteries in both the M18 and MX lines called the REDLITHIUM FORGE. REDLITHIUM FORGE is the next big jump in battery technology since REDLITHIUM High Output a few years ago. REDLITHIUM High Output was a big jump from the REDLITHIUM line and the new FORGE line will drastically increase the capacity of these packs once again.

FORGE isn’t just one type of battery, it’s an approach that Milwaukee is using to produce the most power, the fastest charging and the longest life batteries without sacrificing compatibility with their massive lineup of tools.

MX FUEL REDLITHIUM FORGE Batteries

Milwaukee is announcing two new FORGE batteries to their MX FUEL line including both the FORGE XC8.0 and FORGE XC12.0 packs. These new MX FORGE packs use tabless cylindrical cell technology. This new technology helps reduce resistance and ultimately heat which helps these packs deliver much higher power at lower temperatures.

The MX FUEL FORGE XC8.0 will offer up to 33% more runtime than the regular MX FUEL 6 Ah pack and includes their new COOL-CYCLE capability for high-speed cooling and can charge 100% in just 45 minutes with their new Super Charger. This pack is slated to cost $849 and be available in October 2023.

The MX FUEL FORGE XC12.0 will offer up to 2X the runtime of the 6 Ah pack and fully charges in 65 minutes with the new Super Charger. This pack is slated to cost $1,149 and be available in November 2023.

M18 REDLITHIUM FORGE BATTERY

Milwaukee is introducing the M18 REDLITHIUM FORGE XC6.0 Battery Pack which is capable of delivering the same power as their current HIGH OUTPUT 12.0 packs. These new packs can be charged to 80% in 15 mins with a new Super Charger. This new pack is compatible with all of their M18 Tools and is the most powerful, fastest charging and longest life pack to date. These new battery packs are using pouch cells (similar to what the DEWALT PowerStack and the Flex Stacked packs are using).

These new packs will be available in September 2023 with a price of $199 (this is cheaper in many places than buying a HD 12.0!)

New Super Chargers

Along with the new battery lineup Milwaukee is also releasing two new super chargers.

M18 Duel Bay Simultaneous Super Charger

First up is the new M18™ Dual Bay Simultaneous Super Charger delivers up to 6X faster charging to 80%, maximizing productivity by reducing downtime throughout the day. In just 15 minutes, users can charge an M18™ REDLITHIUM™ FORGE™ XC6.0 Battery to 80%, allowing users to get back to work faster than ever before. Super Chargers are Milwaukee’s fastest chargers, providing you with the fastest charge times for all of your M18™ REDLITHIUM™ batteries. This Super Charger is capable of simultaneously charging up to 2 batteries, while leveraging CHARGE ADAPT™ Adaptive Charge Distribution to distribute power between bays for maximized productivity. The CHARGE ADAPT™ LED light will illuminate for the battery that is able to receive the most amount of power, resulting in the user getting one pack back faster than fully simultaneous chargers. The M18™ Dual Bay Simultaneous Super Charger is COOL-CYCLE™ Capable. COOL-CYCLE™ Active Cooling System, provides high-speed cooling for less downtime. The active cooling feature works with M18™ batteries that have COOL-CYCLE™ capability. The charger features REDLINK™ Intelligence and communicates directly with your battery to monitor cell voltage, temperature, and charge status to optimize the performance and maximize the life of the pack. This charger is compatible with all M18™ Batteries.

Available in September 2023 for $249.

MX FUEL Super Charger

Next up is the MX FUEL™ Super Charger delivers up to 2X faster charging to 100%, getting users back to work faster and maximizing productivity. Super Chargers are Milwaukee’s fastest chargers, bringing you the fastest charge times across the entire MX FUEL™ System. Charge an MX FUEL™ REDLITHIUM™ FORGE™ XC8.0 in 45 Minutes and an MX FUEL™ REDLITHIUM™ FORGE™ HD12.0 in 65 Minutes. The MX FUEL™ Super Charger can also charge the MX FUEL™ XC406 (XC6.0) in 45 minutes, cutting the charge experience in half vs the MX FUEL™ Charger (MXFC). The MX FUEL™ Super Charger is COOL-CYCLE™ Capable. COOL-CYCLE™, Active Cooling System provides high-speed cooling for less downtime. The active cooling feature works with MX FUEL™ batteries that have COOL-CYCLE™ capability. This charger is ONE-KEY™ compatible for tracking, management, and includes an adjustable wattage feature to maximize outlet power on site. The charger features REDLINK™ Intelligence and communicates directly with your battery to monitor cell voltage, temperature, and charge status to optimize the performance and maximize the life of the pack. This charger is compatible with all MX FUEL™ batteries.

Available in October 2023 for $549.
