Bosch DareDevil Spade Bit

DareDevil™ Spade Bit = Not Your Average Bit!

The DareDevil™spade bit is a perfect bit or electrical and plumbing rough frame drilling needs.

The patented design of the bit has a threaded tip for fast smooth feeding. A full cone threaded tip, increases bit speed and and helps start the bit and keep it from wandering.

When I first saw the DareDevil spade bit I was intrigued by the contoured paddle shape.  This wave-like shape aids with chip removal.  If you’ve ever used a spade bit you know how the bit gets bogged down and heats up with built up chips and debris.  The wave-like design actually helps iincrease the speed of the bit!

The DareDevil ialso has a patented spur and reamer design is unique in that it not only scores the wood for a clean entry hole, but also has angled cutting edges that ream the hole for reduced breakout, leaving a cleaner exit hole.

Bosch claims tha the DareDevil is 2.4x faster and required 53% less force than the Irwin Blue Groove, when tested head to head with a 3/4″ spade bit. [test performed by Intertek Testing Services].
