Milwaukee M18 FUEL 7-1/4″ Circular Saw Preview

Milwaukee M18 FUEL 7-1/4″ Circular Saw Preview

At the Milwaukee Tool New Product Symposium last week we saw many great introductions. The first one we saw was the M18 FUEL Hole Hawg. The very next tool was the M18 Fuel 7-1/4″ Circular Saw. They introduced over 50 tools but the first two blew us away. By the second station the Tool Box Buzz crew had already made quite a bit of sawdust.

Last year the 6-1/2″ saw impressed us but the goal has always been to replace the corded 7-1/4″ saw with a cordless one without sacrificing speed and capacity. This year Milwaukee joined a few of their competitors in this sector. The new saw is 40% lighter than its corded counterpart and according to Milwaukee cuts faster as well. Check out the press release below for all the details.

Milwaukee M18 Fuel 7-1/4" Circular Saw

MILWAUKEE, WI  Milwaukee Tool continues to bridge the gap between corded and cordless expectations with the introduction of the new M18 FUEL™ 7-1/4” Circular Saw. Delivering the best of both worlds, the new unit cuts faster than its corded counterparts while being 40%lighter, offers a 2-1/2” cut capacity and features the same right hand blade design that corded users prefer.
As with all M18 FUEL™ products, the new circular saw was engineered for the most demanding applications.  M18 FUEL™ products feature three Milwaukee®-exclusive innovations, the POWERSTATE™ Brushless Motor, REDLITHIUM™ XC4.0 Battery Pack and REDLINK PLUS™ Intelligence Hardware and Software, to deliver unmatched power, run-time and durability.
The POWERSTATE™ Brushless Motor works harder, lives longer, and converts energy into power more efficiently, giving the M18 FUEL™ 7-1/4” Circular Saw the ability to deliver the power and speed needed to minimize bogging down in heavy applications, while completing the cuts faster than cordless saws.  The motor is also completely designed, engineered and built byMilwaukee Tool to deliver years of maintenance-free performance with no wearable components, no losses due to vibration and less heat build-up.
REDLINK PLUS™ Intelligence hardware and software is the most advanced electronic
system on the market. It integrates full-circle communication between tool, battery and charger
to protect them from overloading, overheating, and over-discharging. These protections help maintain ideal conditions for maximum application performance.
Milwaukee REDLITHIUM™ XC4.0 batteries provide up to 2X more run-time and recharges than standard Lithium-Ion batteries and will provide more work per charge, and more work over the life of the pack than competitive batteries.  With Milwaukee® durability built intoeach pack, the REDLITHIUM™ XC4.0 battery operates cooler and performs in climates below0°F/-18°C with fade free power. A battery fuel gauge also displays remaining charge for less down time on the job.
The M18 FUEL™ 7-1/4” Circular Saw also features a cast magnesium construction to reduce the weight of the tool without sacrificing durability. At 40% lighter than its corded counterparts, the user experiences dramatically reduced fatigue after extended use.
In addition, the new cordless tool features an integrated LED light, a dust blower, and a rafter hook for easy storage on the job. All M18 FUEL™ products include the new multi-voltage charger to allow users to charge all M12™ and M18™ batteries with one charger.
Available in September of 2014, the new M18 FUEL™ 7-1/4” Circular Saw delivers on
Milwaukee’s commitment to the user in delivering innovative solutions that will increase
productivity.  For more information on M18 FUEL™, please visithttp://www.milwaukeetool.com/system/m18-fuel.
