The New Category Leader

“Simply put, this is a groundbreaking tool that goes straight to the top of the 18-volt driver-drill category,” said Mario Lopez, Product Manager, Cordless Products, Makita USA. “With its combination of power, speed, and run time, this hammer driver-drill out-powers, out-lasts and out-performs the competition. For contractors seeking the ultimate cordless solution for drilling and driving, the answer is the XPH07M.”

Makita BL™ Brushless Motor Technology

The XPH07M is powered by Makita’s efficient BL™ Brushless motor, which is electronically controlled to optimize battery energy use for up to 50% longer run time per charge than similar non-brushless tools. Electronic controls efficiently use battery energy to match torque and RPM to the changing demands of the application for increased power and speed when needed. And since there are no carbon brushes, the BL™ Brushless motor runs cooler and more efficiently for longer life.

Unmatched Power, Speed, and Run Time for Maximum Efficiency

The efficient BL™ Brushless Motor delivers unmatched power, speed and run time for best-in-class performance. In addition, the new 4.0Ah battery delivers the category’s fastest charge time.

  • POWER: At a full 1,090 in.lbs. of torque, the XPH07M delivers more torque than any other brushless hammer driver-drill in the category
  • SPEED: Up to 24% faster drilling than any other brushless hammer driver-drill in the category (application: 2-9/16″ self-feed bit into 2x material)
  • RUN TIME: Up to 77 holes per single charge of the 18V 4.0Ah battery, more than any other brushless hammer driver-drill in the category (application: 2-9/16″ self-feed bit into 2x material)
  • CHARGE TIME: The new Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion 4.0Ah battery reaches a full charge in only 40 minutes (up to 2-times faster recharge than top competitors in the category)

Star Protection Computer Controls™

For improved tool performance and extended battery life, the XPH07M features Star Protection Computer Controls™. Star Protection is communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating. For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita 18V LXT® and Compact Lithium-Ion batteries with the star symbol on the battery indicating Star Protection inside.

XPT for Added Durability in Harsh Conditions

For added durability, the XPH07M features Makita Extreme Protection Technology (XPT). XPT is a protective seal inside the tool engineered for improved water resistance by channeling water and dust from the tool’s key internal components. The XPT-equipped XPH07M is engineered for improved operation in harsh jobsite conditions. Additional features include a ½” keyless chuck for quick and easy bit changes, a built-in L.E.D. light that helps illuminate the work surface, and a rubberized grip for improved comfort.

Versatile Design for a Range of Applications

The XPH07M is engineered to handle the most demanding drilling and driving applications in wood, masonry and steel. It is available in a kit and as a tool-only, and also as a driver-drill (Kit model XFD07M, tool-only model XFD07Z). Makita has also released two 18V LXT 2-Piece Combo Kits that include the new XPH07M: model XT252M (includes an 18V LXT Brushless 3-Speed Impact Driver, two 18V 4.0Ah batteries and charger), and model XT257M (with an 18V LXT Brushless Impact Driver, two 18V 4.0Ah batteries and charger).
