Bosch Launches Tool-less Oscillating Tool – Model MX30E

Oscillating Tools Continue to Develop!

It’s hard to say whether oscillating tools or impact drivers are leading the way in the power tool category but both of them sure are on fire these days. Not to be outdone by others in the industry today Bosch announced their tool-less version of the Oscillating Tool with the MX30E.

Time will tell how this new offering stands up to the Fein and the Porter-Cable versions. We’ll try to get our hands on one to let you know. In the mean time check out the announcement below from Bosch.

Tool-less Accessory Change System and Added Power Create Winning Combination

Mount Prospect, Ill.,- Bosch Power Tools is introducing the MX30E Multi-X™ Oscillating Tool, which features a great combination of power, performance, convenience and comfort. Ideal for a wide array of cutting, grinding, scraping, and sanding applications, the MX30E is a must-have tool for any tradesman. The MX30E joins the MX25E and the PS50 cordless model in the growing line of Bosch oscillating tools, attachments and accessories.

The MX30E is the first Bosch oscillating tool to boast a toolless accessory change lever, making it easier than ever to attach or reposition the wide variety of OIS (Oscillating Interface System) accessories. Unlike some competitor models’ tool-less accessory-change systems, the Bosch system does not require any parts be removed during the accessory change process, ensuring no essential parts are lost during a job.

The MX30E has an amp rating of 3.0A, the highest rating in its class, and efficiently delivers added power for heavier applications. The speed can be adjusted from 8,000 to 20,000 oscillations per minute (OPM), depending on the requirements of the task, and the Bosch Constant Response™ Circuitry allows users to maintain constant speed under a heavy load.

The tool’s reinforced gear housing cuts down on tool vibration. This feature combined with small grip circumference and multiple soft-grip areas contribute to optimal comfort during tool operation. The OSC003, an optional dust collection kit, is available for use when sanding and joins the ever-expanding array of Bosch power tool dust collection attachments.

The Bosch MX30E Multi-X Oscillating Tool is available in a variety of kits, including the MX30EC-21, MX30EK-33 and the MX30KEL-37, each typically retailing for about $199, $249 and $299 respectively. The MX30EC-21 comes with five cutting and scraping accessories and 16 sanding accessories. The MX30EK-33 comes with seven cutting, scraping and grinding accessories while the MX30EL-37 comes with 11 of these accessories. The EK-33 and EL-37 kits come with 26 sanding accessories. The Bosch MX30E kits are available now through authorized dealers nationwide. To find out more or to locate a dealer, visit www.boschtools.com or call 877-BOSCH-99.

Tool-less is the only way to go. I introduced my wife to oscillating tools this weekend on a bathroom remodel we are doing together and she loved using it but hated that she had to hand it over to me every time a blade had to be swapped out. We have a competitor model from a few years ago and I have to really crank the bolt down to keep blades from vibrating loose. This Bosch looks like it would be a nice upgrade that even she would enjoy using. I love how much these tools are advancing in the last few years.
