Bosch HD19-2D Hammer Drills

Bosch Hammer Drills Offer Best-in-Class Drilling Speed, Durability and Features Bosch HD19-2D even features integrated dust collection!

Bosch Power Tools and Accessories introduced three new high-performance 2-speed hammer drills that give users everything they want and more. Bosch’s HD21-2, HD19-2 and HD19-2D are up to 20 percent faster than the competition in common hammer drilling applications. The secret is a new 17-tooth ratchet disc design that enables Bosch to optimize drilling speed by maximizing impact energy at lower RPMs.  By balancing the speed of the drill (3000 RPM) with the impact rate (51000 BPM), the ratcheting teeth make full contact with each other, thus increasing drilling speed in concrete.

Many competitor tools employ faster speeds and higher rates of impact, which is actually counterproductive because it causes the ratcheting disc to makes contact with only the tips of the ratcheting teeth.  Bosch’s new hammer drills convert every bit of energy into productivity.

As for durability, Bosch’s rugged design and all-metal gear housing is engineered for long life in the toughest applications.  In addition, the HD19 has a unique new dual-fan system that enables the tool to run up to 50 percent cooler than other models in its class.

When it comes to features, Bosch started by giving users the ability to dial in the tools for a variety of applications.

The 2-mode selector switch easily converts the tools from hammer drill to rotation-only mode. And the 2-speed drive-train enables users to choose between high speed (0-3,000 RPM) and high torque (0-1,000 RPM on the HD19-2 models and 0-900 RPM on the HD21-2) operation.

Beyond the standard features, Bosch took things a few steps further with the addition of an integral overload clutch and a 360-degree torque control side handle that work in tandem to minimize torque reaction on the user.

A patented rotating brush plate design provides equal power in reverse mode to easily back out bound-up bits and double brush life. Even the cord turret got a patented re-design; the ball-joint turret enables the cord to pivot 35 degrees for added flexibility and longer cord life.

For users working in spaces where airborne dust is a consideration, Bosch has also integrated dust collection capability into the HD19-2. Available standard on the HD19-2D, Bosch’s innovative and compact microfilter dust collection system utilizes the integrated dual-fan system to capture the highest volume of dust particles in all sizes.

The award-winning system first debuted in 2008 on the Bosch 11250VSRD rotary hammer and has since earned widespread kudos from industry-watchers and end-users alike.

All three of Bosch’s new hammer drills are now available through authorized dealers nationwide. To find out more, users may visit www.boschtools.com or call 877-BOSCH-99
