Craftsman C3 19.2 V Impact Driver Review

Craftsman C3 19.2 V Impact Driver

Last winter I had the pleasure of testing the Craftsman C3 19.2 Volt Impact Driver. The folks at Craftsman sent us the tool so we put it to the test on several job sites. After more than 10 months on the job I’m happy to report that this impact driver is still getting the job done!

C3 19.2 V Impact Driver Features

Kit includes (2) 19.2V battery packs powered by DieHard, a one-hour charger, (2) screwdriver bits, socket adaptor, and bag.

The powerful 19.2V variable speed motor allows for 0 – 2500 RPM. No load speeds and provides the power to do most drilling and driving applications. The impacting mechanism produces 1,500 in. lbs of torque and 0 – 3,500 Impacts Per Minute to easily drive long screws or lag bolts. Metal hex coupler allows user to easily and quickly change bits. With forward/reverse switch user can effortlessly change bit direction. Bright LED light illuminates as the trigger is pulled. The LED provides ample light when working in dimly lit conditions. The mid-handle design with over-mold ensures balance and comfort. Works with 19.2- Volt Batteries Powered by DieHard.

Our Review

The C3 19.2V Cordless Impact Driver from Craftsman is a delight to work with. Our crews use it for a variety of tasks including; lag screws, TrussLok’s, deck screws and other misc. long, heavy threaded fasteners. As you can see in the following short video the C3 has no trouble installing some long (4 inch) TrussLok fasteners on a VERY cold day in the teens.

We’ve found the C3 to have good battery life, well balanced and easy to use. Having the 19.2 volts of power certainly doesn’t hurt as the impact driver always seems to have plenty of power. On another positive note you can use either a NiCd or Li-Ion battery pack depending on your preference.

Overall Impression

The Craftsman C3 19.2 Volt Cordless Impact Driver is a great performing impact driver at a very reasonable price point. The C3 kit comes with two batteries, a carrying case, one hour charger and several bits for just under $150. That’s a great value in our opinion and a tool that’s sure to impress.
